At SKILLS, Inc. we believe that meaningful employment is one of the cornerstones of a happy life. That’s why we run community-based businesses designed to employ individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Revenue from these businesses is reinvested back into our programs and services to support people with intellectual disabilities.
Our Thrift Store in Skowhegan sells a variety of used goods, including: clothing, housewares, toys, books and small furniture. The people we serve help to sort donations and keep the store running smoothly.
SKILLS Inc partnered with Information Technology Exchange, ITE in 2006 to form an recycling and refurbishment program for electronic waste. The program meets state environmental regulations for eWaste recycling while providing sustainable employment for people with disabilities.
