At SKILLS, Inc. we believe that meaningful employment is one of the cornerstones of a happy life. That’s why we run community-based businesses designed to employ individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Revenue from these businesses is reinvested back into our programs and services to support people with intellectual disabilities.
Our friendly thrift store employs people from the local community, as well as some people that we support at SKILLS Inc. We also give back to Skowhegan and surrounding towns by providing quality goods at affordable prices.
Discover a huge selection of clothes as well as books, toys, and household items. Our stock rotates all the time, so check back often. The best part is, all the money that you spend at the thrift store gets reinvested back into our programs to support adults with intellectual disabilities and other challenges.
With weekly promotions and inventory that changes for every season of the year, there’s always something new happening at the thrift store. Follow the store’s Facebook page and never miss a deal.
SKILLS Inc partnered with Information Technology Exchange, ITE in 2006 to form an recycling and refurbishment program for electronic waste. The program meets state environmental regulations for eWaste recycling while providing sustainable employment for people with disabilities.
